đŸŽ” Recording Studio Session - Jim Belushi and The Sacred Hearts

Updated: Sep 22, 2021

Jim Belushi and the Sacred Hearts - 36-27-36 - House of Blues Music / Platinum Records

I worked as an assistant audio engineer in the studio on the 36x22x36 Album project for Jim Belushi and the Sacred Hearts. Helping out with equipment setup and calibration of the recording equipment and gear.

15 years after the passing of his brother John Belushi, Jim decided to carry on the Blues Brothers family tradition of a high-energy, authentic, rhythm-and-blues show band- with a south Memphis accent and an east Texas kick.

Elwood Blues returned as “the legacy” and joined Brother Zee as “the blood,” singing and dancing their way through all the greatest Blues Brothers hits: “Sweet Home Chicago,” “Messin’ with the Kid,” and, of course, “Soul Man,” all backed by the internationally renowned Sacred Hearts. They’ve played for Al Gore and many other politicos and president Clinton was a really big fan. They played the House of Blues venues, casinos, and many benefits concerts and hundreds of corporate events.

For those who like their Rhythm & Blues seasoned with a lot ‘o soul with a Memphis sound the music for the album“36 x 22 x 36” (Platinum Records) is the band’s first studio recording.
